Arrival/Dismissal

We are excited every morning to greet our youngest Kennett Consolidated School District student at their own, full-day kindergarten!

School Hours

The Mary D. Lang Kindergarten Center (MDL) school day runs from 9:05 a.m. through 3:20 p.m. with a lunch period.

Transportation

All of our kindergarten students are either transported via bus or brought to school by their parent or guardian.  Bus transportation is available for all Kennett Consolidated School District students regardless of where they live.  Bus pick-up and drop-off times are available for each Kennett Consolidated School District student at our student information portal.

MDL families who choose to use bus transportation can be picked up and transported from their home bus stop and transported to their homeschool then transported again the MDL.  Parents can also choose to transport their child to the homeschool for transportation to MDL or drive their child directly to MDL.

Students will be placed on their regularly assigned bus unless there is a note from the parent.  A note must be sent each day if a student is not going to ride their assigned bus.  The student should give the note to the Homeroom Teacher who will then send it to the office.  Students may not ride a different bus than their assigned bus for social reasons.  Consistent transportation schedules are recommended to ensure the safety of students.

Find your student's bus information at the Skyward Family Access Portal

Drop Off and Pick Up

Parents can choose to drop off and pick up their child at either Mary D. Lang Kindergarten Center or their child’s homeschool.  If you plan to use this option, please send a note indicating where your child will be picked up and place it in your child’s red communication folder. Please do your best to keep your drop-off and pick-up routines as consistent as possible.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us ensure a safe and smooth process for all our students! Students will be dismissed from the office and will not be permitted to wait outside the building to be picked up. You must come into the building to pick up a student. In the event of an unexpected early dismissal due to an emergency, please contact the office by 2:30 pm to ensure a smooth dismissal.

Please note: Parents/guardians must have picture identification and enter the building to sign out their children for safety purposes.  If you have notified the office that a child care provider will be picking up your child, he/she must be at least 18 years of age.  Please do not park in the bus lane or handicap parking space.
