Teacher Receives Top Honors

On Friday, April 21, students danced their way into the multi-purpose room excited to see Langley the Lion and Principal Mrs. April Reynolds at our April Spirit Assembly! Everything seemed normal as Mrs. Reynolds started the morning with a message and the students learned a song about Earth Day. Then, Mrs. Reynolds continued the slideshow and the logo for the Citadel Federal Credit Union appeared on the screen.

AT that point, Ms. Theresa Stringer of Citadel entered the multi-purpose room and Mrs. Reynolds announced that a teacher at the Mary D. Lang Kindergarten Center was a finalist in Citadel’s Teacher of the Year Award contest!

Ms. Stringer explained that each year the credit union reaches out to the community to nominate teachers who are deserving of this recognition. Community members write letters explaining why their nominee would make the best recipient. “It is said that everything you need to know you learn in Kindergarten,” read Ms. Stringer.

Then moment came for the big reveal – the 2017 finalist for the Kennett Consolidated School District is Mrs. Jeri Ramagnano! Mrs. Ramagnano will represent the Kennett Consolidated School District at a luncheon with other finalists from around Chester County.

The teachers and staff at Mary D. Lang Kindergarten Center are extremely proud of Mrs. Ramagnano!
