What We Accomplished In December

All of our pods accomplished so much to end the calendar year!

Our P Pod had a wonderful time reading many different versions of The Gingerbread Man and comparing each story. Each day, students discussed the characters, settings, and endings, noticing how the stories were similar and different. Through these discussions, they strengthened their comprehension and storytelling skills. The learning was even sweeter with hands-on, gingerbread-themed activities, including making gingerbread houses and gingerbread men!

Our M Pod had a very merry time learning about holidays celebrated around the world. Students traveled through each M Pod classroom, where they explored different cultures and meaningful holiday traditions. Along the way, they learned about Hanukkah, Las Posadas, Kwanzaa, Chinese New Year, and Ramadan. Each stop offered hands-on activities and discussions that helped students understand the values and traditions behind each celebration. This experience encouraged curiosity, respect, and appreciation for diverse cultures.

Our U Pod has been working incredibly hard to build their addition and subtraction skills. Through a variety of engaging math centers and hands-on games, students are practicing and strengthening their understanding of addition and subtraction within 5. These activities encourage problem-solving, number sense, and mathematical thinking in a fun and meaningful way. We are proud of the focus and effort the U Pod has shown as they continue to grow as confident mathematicians.
