Kindergarten is a milestone year where children unlock their potential, develop essential school readiness skills, and experience the joy of learning as part of a vibrant, supportive community.

Our dedicated team of highly qualified and passionate staff members is passionate about guiding nearly 300 of KCSD’s youngest scholars through this transformative year. Together, we empower students to build a strong foundation that supports success throughout their academic journey—and beyond!

At Mary D. Lang, we blend research-based, explicit instruction in language arts, math, reading, science, and social studies with opportunities for creative expression in art, music, and physical education. Each day, students engage in Purposeful Play, applying their learning in ways that spark curiosity and joy.

We are also proud to offer a wide range of support services tailored to meet the unique needs of every child, including English Language Development (ELD), gifted education, counseling, hearing therapy, mental health support, occupational and physical therapy, special education, speech therapy, and nursing care.
