Welcome to Our District

The Kennett Consolidated School District (KCSD) is a Public School District serving approximately 4,000 K-12 students in the southeastern part of Chester County via six (6) schools, including a school solely dedicated to kindergarten.  In addition, KCSD boasts its one-of-a-kind Legacy Fields Complex, the largest contiguous synthetic turf field in the State of Pennsylvania.

Political subdivisions existing within the 34.17 mile District include the Borough of Kennett Square, Kennett Township, New Garden Township and a portion of East Marlborough Township.

A bright future begins for our youngest students at the Mary D. Lang Kindergarten Center, a joyful learning environment where our youngest students learn, play, and explore together.

Students then attend first through fifth grade at one of our three elementary schools: Bancroft, Greenwood or New Garden Elementary School.  Two (2) new, state-of-the-art elementary schools are currently being constructed to replace both Greenwood and New Garden in August 2026.

Our elementary students then reunite at the beautiful, modern, Kennett Middle School, a Pennsylvania Don Eichhorn School to Watch for five (5) years, most recently for 2024.

High School life is spent in our historic Kennett High School, where our celebrated educational programs, future ready programs, and rich extra-curricular opportunities shepherd our students through a rich educational experience.  We also have a partnership with the Chester County Technical College High School, a public high school specializing in career and technical education for students in grades 10-12 operated by the Chester County Intermediate Unit on behalf of Chester County's 12 public school districts.

At KCSD, we’re particularly proud of our multicultural community. Forty-five percent identify as Hispanic. Our multilingual learners hail from multiple countries, including: Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Venezuela and Panama.*  Another 48% identify as white.

While excellence in education is a nearly century-old tradition in KCSD, we do not rest on our laurels. Together with our professional public educators, parents and partners, we’re busy building a 21st century educational experience for all. Every one of our students is on a journey to succeed in the world– and it’s our job to help them.
